One of the features of brick we keep coming back to is its versatility. We, at Paver Maintenance Specialists of Detroit, promote it for many reasons. There are many styles of brick pavers to choose from and we know each of our clients can find something they love. Utica antique pavers are a specific style to consider when you are planning a hardscape addition to your home. This especially applies to people who own older homes or have pre existing brick structures on their property that they would like to match.
Pavers have been used over many centuries on roads and important buildings. Back then, they weren’t referred to as “antique” (obviously) but today what we think of as “antique” is simply a replication of that style. The ancient Romans and Greeks commonly used antique styled pavers to construct their cathedrals and castles. Today, Utica antique pavers are still popular for their sense of old world charm and vintage style.
If you want to be bold and original, then Utica antique pavers are the way to go. Here is a bit more information about them:
Universal Application
As we mentioned above, ancient Europe is scattered with antique brick in a huge range of applications. So when it comes to deciding where to put your Utica antique pavers, you don’t need to limit yourself. Create a rustic walkway through your garden, match your driveway to the style of the neighborhood, add a colonial looking retaining wall — the sky is truly the limit.
Manufacturing Process
There is essentially one technique that is being used today in the production of antique pavers. The process of making these bricks is not too unlike regular bricks, and it is as follows: A 60-year old machine (used for normal brick pavers) is used in the process of making Utica antique pavers. Antique pavers can consist of either a mixture of clay and water, or cement, sand and water, it all depends on the manufacture and the required specifications. This mixture is run through the 60-year old machine and heated at an extremely high temperature. The heating is the most critical step as this is what binds the material together.
A Touch of Class
Not only are Utica antique pavers known for their vintage appeal but they are also known to look elegant and classy overall. They have charisma and an edge of their own, completely unlike any other paver material. Regardless of where you choose to place them or how you utilize them, antique brick pavers will most definitely put a unique shine on things.
