PMS was out in Chesterfield, Michigan in the Lotties working for our friend Adam’s home from Precision Landscape and Birmingham Lawn. He has a large pool deck consisting of Ridgecliff pavers from Unilock and exposed aggregate around the interior of the pool. Adam’s company installed the pavers and decorative concrete and the exposed aggregate approximately 8 years ago. PMS has worked for Precision Landscape and their clients for nearly 2 decades. Adam, the owner and a mentor, trusts us for keeping his pavers and exposed aggregate looking pristine.
Chesterfield Paver Maintenance & Repair Process
PMS washed all the brick pavers, retaining walls, and exposed aggregate. We used extreme caution while power washing due to all the hardware in the outdoor kitchen’s custom pergola and tight space on the water of Lake Saint Clair. We took our time covering everything we could with plastic sheeting to make sure the hardware in the outdoor kitchen wasn’t affected from the aggressive cleaning techniques.
Next we swept all the brick pavers with polymeric sand in brown. PMS is not comfortable sealing these wet-cast pavers due to the surface. The surface can become very slippery, even with a thin coat of sealer. Our opinion is that wet-cast is not as durable as traditional pavers made by Fendt Oaks and Unilock.
We then sealed the exposed aggregate with our brown 30% sealer to really make the aggregate stand out while covering some of the blemishes from the initial installation.
Lastly, we wet the sand and made sure that we didn’t hurt the freshly sealed exposed aggregate. Precision Landscape’s owner, Adam, was very impressed and still recommends and trusts PMS with all of his clients who need hardscape maintenance.
